I have worked with Laura, the President of Red Rover Promotions, on and off for years. While a very skilled writer herself, Laura will contact me from time to time to edit her writings, bring a vision of hers to life on the page, or to simply write for her when her time is better spent elsewhere. This is a newsletter I wrote for Red Rover in the Spring of 2021. Laura had been reminiscing about cloud watching in her youth and wanted to bring her readers a piece that made them feel as though they were laying in the yard and staring up at the sky (while also sharing a few new products at their disposal).

 

 

“Take a moment and remember days that were. Lying on the lawn, your neck and ankles itchy from the lush pillow of grass underneath you. Puffy menageries performed high above, seemingly just for you. Why did we leave those days?

Seems to me the Red Rover newsletter should slow down and relax with a friendly dose of those cumulus clouds.

It's time for light-hearted surprises around the corner. A reason to smile. An idea that can become a catalyst. A story that inspires yours.

This week, it's a couple of pencils to remind you of what life was like before we were expected to get it right the first time. When we had the freedom to make a mistake and not have to get a new sheet of paper.

This one makes me feel elegant. From the eraser, ferule (the metal thing that holds the eraser to the pencil) to the wooden core, it's all black. Gorgeous.

 Sometimes, elegant isn’t enough. Sometimes, we want magic. If you want to add a little magic, this will do the trick. It's time for a rainbow.

Here's a journal that will feed your soul. Custom art from edge to edge. Denik believes that art can change the world (and we don’t disagree!). To that end, they have used profits to build schools in Ghana, Mali, Guatemala, and Laos. Perhaps it's time to release your inner Michelangelo and invite those around you to do the same.

 

Back in my cloud watching days, success was finding the perfect bunny cloud. It was seeing something totally new in what all my friends agreed was a fish. Success is fluid.
